There have been a number of huge collaborations in the past and there have also been a number of odd duets and it appears that there could be one more in the pipeline. One Direction met rapper Jay-Z recently and declared that they would love to work on a track with him, although they did concede that it was unlikely.

Talking to MTV News, Liam Payne said, “I would love to do a hip-hop collaboration with Jay-Z. I don’t know how to talk to him, though. I think he’s wicked. I love Jay-Z. It upsets me that we’re not cool enough, but I wish we could.”
Then, band mate Zayn Malik talked about potentially going on tour with the legendary rapper but his dreams were shot down by Louis Tomlinson, who was being more of a realist when he declared, “Lads, I don’t think there’s much chance.”

One Direction have been in regular competition with fellow British boyband The Wanted, who are set to collaborate with Chris Brown. If One Direction could get a collaboration with Jay-Z, they would once again outdo their rivals.
